week recap

we had a long week last week...Quinn woke up at 4am on monday morning with croup. poor guy. We headed to the ped. monday afternoon for his steroid and he started it later that day. It usually only takes 1 day for the steroid to kick in and the cough is usually gone...well, not this time. Quinn sounded terrible until thursday night. He stayed at home with me and Egan all week. It was rather interesting...I got to be a stay at home mom for a week with Quinn and Egan. We survived but not without a few tears, a few time outs, lots of hugs and kisses, and way too much Barney. Here are a few pics from the past 2 weeks...

Quinn sporting my sunglasses and Pat's shoes.

we decided to head to the beach. Quinn was afraid of the water...
here he is running away from the water.

Egan zonked out on the beach chair in the shade

baking some sugar cookies

One episode of Barney that we watched over and over showed kids and Barney making cookies so Quinn kept asking to make cookies. I took him to the grocery store on saturday and let him pick out what cookies he wanted and what toppings. He picked sugar cookies and mini m&m's for toppings.

Quinn picking out his m&m's. He ate a ton of m&m's while making his cookies.

here he is getting ready to shove a handful in his mouth

me and my baking buddy

while we waited for the cookies to bake, we built castles (his other favorite thing to do these days) out in the garage while Pat changed the oil in the MG.

The boys staring at each other. Egan LOVES his brother and smiles when Quinn talks to him.

"hug kiss Egan" (Quinn talk for I want to give Egan a hug and a kiss)

doing tummy time. Torticollis seems to be doing better. We do lots of tummy and back time. We head to physical therapy on Sept. 10. The ped. thinks we should only need to go once or twice. We will see.

Pat received good news the other day. The grant that MUSC had written for him will be funded and he will be offered a more permanent position in the Dept. of Neurosciences. Looks like we will be sticking around in the south a little bit longer.

We are looking forward to fall--cooler weather, more activities outside, a new baby on the block (our neighbors, Joe and Elina, are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their first son around Sept. 16), and Steeler football.
